We all travveled to istambul to do a corporate show for a huge construction company in regards to the selenium project, It was our first time in turkey and we got to see some of the city. We all went out to a lovely fish restaurant on the marina in istambul, it was incredible. The people were so nice to us and the show went really well. We are all looking forward to go back to Turkey.

Dale Forbes (Benny Abba Mania)

Last week was a crazy week for me! As the company Swing I travelled down to Basel from Halle with Ralph the driver to do a show, then travelled back 10 hours in the car to Riesa to perform the next night! A very long journey, but what a relief when we finally got there! We arrived with an hour to spare before the show, so poor Ralph had to put up with me, warming up my voice and putting on my show make up on in the back of the car to make sure I was ready! Thankfully the show was a great success after such a long journey, but luckily the next show was in Berlin, so not too far for us to travel. The show in Berlin was at the Tempodrom, and I can honestly say it was my favourite show so far this tour – an amazing atmosphere with an incredible audience.

Debbie Watts (Frida Abba Mania)

So we are now over half way through winter tour and things are going really well.
The shows are sold out nearly every night and the audiences have been great, especially at the Köln Arena, where we played to 9000 crazy fans!!!
We have also travelled to the Eastern part of Germany to places like Dresden and Leipzig again there the crowds were really enthusiastic and reallly enjoyed themselves- check our guest book at the ABBA MANIA website for really good reviews.
Until now we have been very lucky with the weather- only in the last 2 days have we had travel on Snowbound roads- thank you to Ralf (our driver) for getting us to the shows.

Tourdiary with the best of 2005/2006

Passau 01.02.2006

It has been a tough week especially for Agnetha (Nadine) and myself as we have been travelling across europe by train - from cologne to paris and back again. The trip to passau started with a nice short 7 hour journey - thank god for my MP3 player which of course plays ABBA constantly !!! I see from my diary that we last played in Passau on the 20th feb 2005 - frightening how time flys when you are singing ABBA songs ! Passau is such a pretty town - had time to go for a quick walk before going for our usual soundcheck at 4:30p.m.
Agnetha and I had done a radio interview for the Passau gig - which hopefully didn`t pot too mayn people off ! As we had had very little sleep it really helped that the audience were amazing - resulting in keeping us awake !
We look forward to visiting Passau again - maybe next february !

Düren 29.01.2006

Well once again Leoni and I said goodbye to one cast and got on the road once more to re-unite with another cast. We travelled by car, driven by Andreas (Fidelios' accountant), from the very picturesque Baden Baden to the town of Duren. The journey was a little under 400 km but the weather stayed clear as did the roads. It was the first time AbbaMania had performed in Duren but I hope not the last. The audience of over 2000 people were fantastic!!!!! It was great to work with Frank and Jules(Benny and Bjorn) once more and the really excellent band(Harry, Lars and Pete). It was a bit of a shock seeing Jules as he had developed a very nasty eye infection since I had last seen him a week before and it looked really nasty, but he was a true professional and got on with the job and gave a great performance.
My last day of this tour approaches and though I look forward to going home and sleeping in my own bed, I have had a wonderful few weeks. The audiences of Germany have been, as always, fantastic!!!

See you soon. Joanne Libby

Bremen 24.01.2006

Travelling with Abba Mania to Bremen was a real treat. Not only that we had a fantastic crowd in the AWD Dome, before the show I had a regional speciality called “Kohl & Pinkel”.. That was something… I was stuffed! I needed so much German Schnaps to digest all that sausage - more than an average guy from London can normally take.

Truly Yours, Jules (Björn)

Augsburg 28.12.05

After about 500 kilometers on the road we finaly arrived Augsburg today and were heartly welcomed by 9 really nice styled ladies at the venue! Today was the big day of the children's choir „KI-CHO-GIRLS“, they did an amazing job and rocked the stage. They performed “I have a dream” and received standing ovations from the audience! Even our Lighttech Santos had an experience that he will probably never forgett… maybe it had something to do with the superior number of ladies in the backstage area!?

Stutgart 28.12.2005

Wow, What an amazing night in Stuttgart!!. A wonderful Audience and a special suprise at the end of the show, I asked the audience if anyone had a special story about Dancing Queen, A Guy said yes, so I invited him onto stage and he told a story of how he met his girlfriend!. She was in the audience so I invited her onto stage aswell. He then asked her to marry him, she was surprised and said Yes!!. It was amazing and everyone cheered. We wish them all the best for the future.

Lots of love, Dale Forbes (as Benny)
